Software firm Ideagen has raised over £150 for a leading Parkinson’s charity by donating cash to watch the action during the European football Championships in France.
Staff from all across the company’s offices in the UK, the US and Dubai donated £5 each to watch games during working hours in a bid to raise vital funds for the Parkinson's Europe (Parkinson's Europe).
Workers downed tools for the good cause while watching the action, which included Gareth Bale and Wayne Rooney locking horns in the recent Group B ‘Battle of Britain’ between Wales and England.
And while stars of England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland battled it out on the pitch, Ideagen’s heroes were doing their bit away from the field by raising almost £155 during the group stages of the competition.
A spokesperson for Parkinson's Europe said: “Sincere thanks to all the staff of Ideagen from the UK, US and Dubai for coming up with such a fantastic and enjoyable way of raising money for Parkinson's Europe. You have raised not only much needed funds but great awareness for Parkinson’s and contributed to our work which is to help enable people with Parkinson’s and their families across Europe to live a full life. Thank you.”
