- "The future generation of advanced therapies for Parkinson’s"
Over time, medication may no longer effectively control Parkinson’s symptoms. In some carefully selected cases, surgery may help. Neurosurgery (surgery of the brain) focuses on three target areas to treat Parkinson’s: the subthalamic nucleus (STN), the thalamus, and the globus pallidum internus (GPi).
The choice of treatment and the target selected is based on a careful evaluation of each individual's needs.
